My name is Pam. I’ve been working since 14 years old and now in my 40’s. I became disabled due to violence. I worked for years as a nurse helping everyone, and reaching out to people in need. Now that I’m not well, there is no one to help me. I moved in a new affordable home, as my situation changed. I have a young boy and I’m a single mom. At my new residence the landlord has been breaking into my home, the minute I leave my residence to drop my son off to activities or a doctor’s appointment. They have keyed, scratched, dented and damaged the furniture that I have worked so hard over decades to pay for. I reported it to the police and they said there is nothing they can do. I had the landlord change the locks, but they didn’t want to. They did a sloppy job and the lock was not secure. With the new lock in, the vandalism still is continuing. The landlord laughs and thinks it’s funny. I’m besides myself as to why a landlord would do this since I’ve paid my rent on time since being here and have never had any conflicts with anyone. This is the first time I have ever experienced such odd behavior from a landlord in all of my years. Now I have to find the money to refinish my wood furniture and replace pretty much everything. I would be beyond grateful if I won the kitchen aid appliance package. Being on a limited income I cook a lot and would feel some relief from this horrible situation I’m in.
