My birthday story remains one of my favorite family stories. My mom went into labour, and my dad was in a panic to start the 30 minute drive to the nearest hospital in rural Alberta. He did a rolling stop… past a police officer.
at the one of only signs in our small town. After being pulled over for his hasty actions, the officer was taking a long time to exit his vehicle.
Eventually my father anxiously jumped out of the car startling the officer, resulting in the officer drawing his weapon. My dad, equally shocked, told the officer he would be delivering a baby if he didn’t make a move. We were escorted to the hospital, sirens a going. I was delivered shortly after in hospital with a grand entance.
