We just took possession of a historically known home on an island in the 1000 Islands. It was built by the Wiser family in 1906, yes, as in Wiser Whiskey. The kitchen, omg, disgusting. I have all of a foot of counter space. The cupboards are made of pine covered in stains, one set of cupboard doors at one time had been knawed at by some kind of animal. The floor is linoleum, probably installed in the 60’s based on the colour, pattern and condition, curled up in a number of corners, covered in so much grime, hand and knee scrubbing still doesn’t clean it. There is a stove that only 2 elements work. Some of the cupboards won’t close, with a broom cupboard that I can’t yet bring myself to even begin to try to clean. There is a butler’s pantry that, well, I don’t even know how to describe it, its terrible beyond anyone’s imagination.
This has become our home. What were we thinking. A IKEA kitchen would be my greatest wish ever!!!! IKEA kitchen’s are gorgeous and I know one could be designed to retain the originality of this historic place. What an addition it would be!! What an absolute joy to use!!!!!

Love to have a new kitchen makeover from Ikea!! My house in the Glebe, Ottawa is over hundred years old. A lot of renovations done on the house since purchasing it 7 years old but I haven’t tackled the kitchen with the 50 year old cabinets. It is crying for an Ikea kitchen!!

  7. Since I found this website and entered this draw, it’s all I can think about! After the last year we have had, selling everything we owned to move four provinces over… losing a lot of things in the move courtesy of the moving company… having our first baby in June… and starting all over in a fixer upper, it would be an amazing, fantastic, wonderful gift (literally) if we won. God knows the current 1970s galley style kitchen with it’s brown lino, no countertop space, white/grey marbled stained counters, leaky faucet, no dishwasher, old coil stove and greasy wood laminate cabinets could sure use the help. START THE CAR!

We recently bought a home that has a 1984 kitchen and we cant afford to remodle the kitchen. Its starting to feel very unconfortable day by day cooking in it. I love to cook and bake. I would apprecaite a $10,000. kitchen. This would be a dream come true.

I entered the IKEA kitchen makeover contest Oct 12, but I have no idea when they will make a decision. Does anyone know? I sooooo would like to win a new kitchen. I left a beautiful century home with a huge kitchen and now have a small dingy horrible one. I spend so much of my time in the kitchen as I love cooking but it’s very depressing spending time in this one. We probably all deserve a new kitchen! Good luck to all.
