  1. I have been renovating this house for 8 years. Just about every room in the house has been done. I still have a bathroom and the kitchen to do and am out of money. The kitchen makeover would be the best thing that could happen to this 35 year old house. This kitchen is stuck in the 70’s.

We purchased a log home 10 yrs ago with the anticipation to renovate the kitchen and bathroom and since nothing got done because we came to realise it was very expensive we can’t afford it. Winning this contest would mean a lot to our family. I’ve ben in the food industry for over 15yrs and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

Not only a new kitchen but an energy saving one. This prize would be the best.

We have done most of our house over with renovaions and all we have left is the kitchen. Which I find amusing because we spend most of our time there, but it is also the most expensive to renovate as well. And to top it all of if it a energy saving one it would only be the icing on the top!!!!!

we could really us a new kitchen. the present kitchen is over 20 years old and is falling a part. The house needed a lot of work when we bought it and over time we are trying to update. We would like to open the kitchen to the familyroom to make both rooms appear more spacious. this would be a great start to the year to have a new kitchen

I’m married and a mom of 5 beautiful girls, we’ve lived in our home for the last 21 years. Still have the same linoleum that was scratched when the other owners moved out. The kitchen is original. Built in 1963, white, counter to ceiling design. The kitchen is small and we squeeze around our table every day to enjoy our family meals. I am currently receiving chemo for breast cancer that recurred last Oct. Our dream of redoing our kitchen and bathroom was rapidly taken away from us. My dream would be to leave my daughters with a beautiful kitchen to share great memories and moments for years to come!

Wow! We so want to win the Kitchen reno! It would be a dream come true. You can have every room in the house redone but when guest are over they gravitate to the kitchen no matter what the size – and our kitchen is small for a family of 5. Over the past 11 years, we’ve gradually redone some of the rooms in this 48 year old home. We confirmed the age of the home when the toilet bowl broke and water spewed everywhere. Reno’s are expensive and as the kids get older the priorities change as what is needed and what is dreamed about. We live on a picture perfect lot on the niagara escarpment. Tall black walnut trees grace our lawn. We back onto forest. We have a revolving door of friends and children who need to be fed so I am in the kitchen all the time. The former owners laid ceramic tile on top to linoleum and not the tiles are all cracking under our feet as we walk. A major problem is the tiny single paned window in the kitchen is usally frosted over throughout the winter months and I don’t get to enjoy the outdoors. I laugh at my creativity, as the fronts of the drawers keep falling off and I find glue and screws to reattach them, saying …the reno is coming…the reno is coming….:) pick me! and bring some sanitity to my crazy cracked floor, crumbing cupboards and drawers!

diana says: I really need to win this kitchen, we purchased this old house twelve years ago. The house is as old as I am 61 and it had the original cabinets which i did replace with used cabinets so I had some sort better storage space, but it still does not work well. For once in my life I would like to know what it like to work in a real kitchen. I am very energy concious and I know my old appliances are not as energy efficient as they could be. A disgrace at its best.

I would love to win this contest. Recently my step-father passed away at 50 years old due to a heart attack, and then in October my Father passed away at the age of 50. He left his house to me in the will, but neither had life insurance leaving only myself and my mom left in our family and struggling financially. I am currently a nursing student in university and paying for school myself as well. The house my Dad left for me is in rough shape and my goal would be to try and renovate the house and sell it so that I can have money to finish my education and begin my life which is what my Dad would have wanted. I would really LOVE to win this kitchen! πŸ™‚
