I have lived in my house for 91/2 yrs. and yes my husband painted when we moved in and since that he has done nothing. He stated the kitchen (not finished) had central air in and they had to cut a hole in the wall (not repaired) baseboard removed (not repaired) and it goes on. I am in so much need of a room make over it not funny.

I would really like to win this for my sister, she has done so much for myself as well as everyone she knows, always offering help but never asking for any. The last few years they have really had a string of bad luck, first losing thier barn and some cattle in a fire and then having her husband laid off for a year only to be called back to work for 2 weeks and have a tornado rip through Goderich wrecking his place of work and to be laid off again. Everytime they save any money to fix their kitchen a piece of equipment on the farm breaks and the money has to go there instead. She has been off work the last 6 months with health issues that specalists appear to be stumped by so they just keep trying to treat the symptoms to keep her as mobile as possible, while they keep doing test after test. They have three young boys who are terrific and never complain even though they joke mom keeps her halloween decorations up all year when talking about the big hole in the kitchen ceiling she plugs with batting. The flooring needs replaced badly as well as the walls need a lot of tlc. She really deserves a break.

Hi, I’m Cynthia. I purchased my little 500 sq ft condo 6 years ago. I love it. Prior to moving in, I sold, consigned, and gave away almost all of my furniture. I’m 54 years old, and my things were a crazy mix accumulated since I was 18 years old. Not great. Moving into my new home with nothing but my bed, I started accumulating things I really loved, piece by piece.

The one thing I didn’t do was replace the carpet in my condo prior to moving in. It is a dull sky blue, inexpensive. worn, and doesn’t go with anything from paint colour to apolstery in my home. What a mistake to make. Then, I lost my job of 29 years, 3 years ago, and I have no money to replace this nasty carpet. I would love to win this contest, and correct my mistake with beautiful new flooring. This would make my home my perfect sanctuary. Please wish me luck!
