5. FINALIST SELECTION.
Twenty (20) Finalists shall be selected as follows:
(a) On or about February 27, 2011 at approximately 6:00 p.m. in Toronto, Ontario, twenty (20) Finalists will be selected by a random draw from all eligible Show Entries and all eligible Online Entries received during the Contest Period. Each entrant shall be eligible to fill only one (1) Finalist Spot. Prize. The odds of being selected as a Finalist are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received by the Sponsors.
(b) If, as a result of an error relating to the entry process, drawing or any other aspect of the Contest, there are more selected entrants than contemplated in these Contest Rules, there will be a random draw amongst all eligible Prize claimants after the Contest’s closing date to award the correct number of Prizes.
6. WINNER SELECTION.
One (1) Winner shall be selected as follows:
(a) On or about February 28, 2011 at approximately 8:10 a.m. EST in Toronto, Ontario, 98.1 CHFI (for Rogers Broadcasting Limited) (“CHFI”) will select one (1) entrant by a random draw from all eligible Finalists and will announce the name of the selected Finalist on the CHFI MORNING SHOW on that date and time. The selected Finalist will have ten (10) minutes to call CHFI at (416) 872-2434.
If the selected Finalist does not call CHFI within the allotted ten (10) minutes, they will be disqualified from the Contest and another Finalist will be selected from the remaining Finalists. The same process will repeat until a selected Finalist successfully contacts CHFI with the allotted ten (10) minute time frame following the announcement of their name.
The Winner’s phone call to CHFI will be aired on the radio immediately. Each Finalist shall be eligible to win only one (1) Prize. The odds of being selected as a potential winner are one (1) in twenty (20). Before being declared a Winner, the selected Finalist shall be required to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether perfectmomental or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered during a pre-arranged telephone call or by e-mail, to comply with the Contest Rules and sign and return the Release (described below).
(b) The selected Finalists will have five (5) seconds to respond once the call is answered. If the telephone line is dead when answered by CHFI, or no audible response is heard, or no one responds after five (5) seconds, CHFI will select another Finalist and answer the next call in sequence and the next call in sequence will replace that call. In the event a call is cut-off before all personal data is collected, CHFI will make its best efforts to make contact with the cut-off caller provided enough personal information was gathered in order to correctly identify the cut-off caller. In the event two or more calls come through on the same line, all such callers will be advised to hang up and try again and the next call in sequence and the next call in sequence will replace that call.
(c) THE SELECTED FINALIST WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON THE RADIO ON THE CHFI MORNING SHOW ON FEBRUARY 28, 2011 AND MUST RESPOND IN ACCORDANCE WITH 6(A) AND 6(B) ABOVE. Upon notification, the selected Finalist must respond by telephone to CHFI at (416) 872-2434, and the selected Finalist’s response must be received by the Sponsors within ten (10) minutes of such notification. If the selected Finalist does not respond in accordance with the Contest Rules, he/she will be disqualified and will not receive a Prize and another Finalist will be selected in the Sponsors’ sole discretion until such time as an entrant satisfies the terms set out herein.
