Babbeling Brook

ICYMI: Every day this week I’m highlighting at least one gift idea you can nab at the last minute across Canada. Today’s featured brand is all about broadening your horizons by learning a new language.

babbel

What It Is: Is someone in your life traveling in the New Year? Are they moving to a new country? Do they need to learn a new language or are they looking to brush up on one from their childhood? Whatever the case may be, Babbel has got you covered! This award-winning app allows you to learn the language of your choice on the go, with accessibility on your desktop and mobile devices that picks up seamlessly between devices. Currently you can learn 14 different languages – including common picks like French and Spanish and more exotic options like Turkish or Indonesian.

Not only is the platform super accessible, it’s set up in 10-20 minute bite-sized lessons that can be done daily without overwhelming your already jam-packed life. It even incorporates review lessons to ensure you’re retaining information after you’ve learned it. You can even tailor which lessons you take based on what you’re most interested in – from business to travel to everything in between. Speak a new language with confidence and a true understanding with this unique app. It makes a fab gift idea – currently gift cards aren’t available but you can always offer to pay for it when a loved one signs up, or sign up yourself and then transfer the account to your recipient. J’adore!

Who It’s For: Your sibling that’s spending a semester abroad. Your parents that are going on a multi-month trip. Your spouse that’s branching out with new business opportunities in a foreign market. Your bestie that’s challenging themselves to learn a new language as their New Year’s Resolution.

What It Costs: A one-year subscription is $170 – or just $14 a month!

Where It’s At: You can learn more about Babbel on their website (and take a sample exercise for a spin), or download it on the App or Google Play Store.
