We got the opportunity to review the Chicco UltraSoft 2-Way Infant Carrier in Limited Edition Vapor when Cyrus was born and have been taking it with us on the #KidsInThe416 day trips. Since I have been taking pictures and navigating our adventures my husband happily wore Cyrus.

We have all seen the pictures of baby wearing dads and maybe I am biased but my husbands’ attractiveness skyrocketed when he had baby in tow. It completely melted my heart when I saw the bonding that was going on between him and his newest babe. What I am able to achieve through breastfeeding he is doing by taking our little man on walks.

Design & Comfort

Designed with comfort in mind the Chicco carrier has a stretchable, mini-vented lining which allows your baby’s skin to breathe and stay cool. Nothing worse than a sweaty, unhappy baby when you are out and about. A great addition is the breathable tech-mesh shoulder pads that provide the comfort necessary when wearing baby for extended periods. Another added bonus is the great height adjustable lumbar support in the same breathable mesh lining. For my husband’s bad back adjusting this was probably the reason why he could carry Cyrus for hours at a time.

Adjustable Fit For You & Baby

One thing I always found annoying when wearing was that as my weight fluctuated I found it difficult to adjust them so they fit just right. I really like that the Chicco has side straps that are bi-directional that I can adjust with one hand. My husband and I have a 25 pound weight difference with me being the heavier opponent so when I need to wear baby while getting some housework done I can easily adjust the straps to fit me.

As the Chicco fits babies from 7.5-25 lbs (3.4-11.3 kg) it has 3 different side straps to easily accommodate any overnight growth spurts. Whether you choose to wear baby facing you or facing into the world you can quickly adjust to meet your (and baby’s) needs.

Cool Features

The cuddle pocket is ingenious. When you wear your baby it is natural to hold them. It provides extra support and lets your little one know you are close. This pocket takes it to another level and gives you a place to rest your hand.

The snap-on towel for when baby decides to spit-up or drool. How many of us have tried to place a cloth on our carrier only to have it fall out of place and still end up completely covered in spit-up. With the easy on and off snap on button you just throw it in the wash and reattach for your next wearing session.

The front pocket with a Velcro closure. I like to keep my bank card with me at all times if I am going out and more times than I care to admit I have dropped it from my pocket while pulling my phone out. Now I conveniently slip it into the pocket and head out on an adventure. Now trips to the park can end with slushies for the kids.

The mesh pockets will provide you quick access to things you need such as keys, snacks or a pacifier.

I like the fact that the carrier is easily folded onto itself and stored in the included storage bag. It allows me to neatly store and carry my carrier without it getting dirty or taking up much space.

How Chicco Helps Us

At 3 months old my son is past that stage where he sleeps all the time and we are enjoying his awake time more. He wants to be held, talked to and just interacted with. Although I would love to just lay in bed with him and play it is summer vacation and I now have 3 other kids (and their friends) to look after. I can combine some one-on-one interaction with the baby while I do a quick tidy or throw together some lunch.

The limited edition Vapor design is both comfortable and stylish. With blue, grey (light and dark) and white colours it is easily worn by both men and women and I love that my husband is willing to wear it. I see a bond forming between him and our baby that took much longer with our other children. Bonus is that it’s so easy to put on he does it by himself (never would have happened with our wrap carrier).

Wow, so many things I like about this! I like that it is easily adjustable with one hand. I like the cuddle pocket; with my old carrier I almost always hada hand on the back of the carrier. I like that you can wear baby facing out or in.

My little guy always falls right asleep when we wear him. I think it is being close to our chest and hearing our heart beat that is so soothing

I love that the CHICCO looks smashing on Dad, that there is a convenient pocket for keys and that snap on towel! Sorry, couldn’t narrow it down to one great feature!!

Love the pocket where I can keep my personal belongings. My “other brand” carrier didn’t have that and it would have come in very handy.
