Carrie
Interesting find, Carrie! I signed up so I could see how it works, and it's pretty slick, although my entries got a cryptic "No such reasult(sic) is here" response.
There's been a couple of sites that have tried to make it easy to keep track of your contest entries (including us!), but www.fastsweeper.com is taking it to a whole new level. In fact, I think they may be crossing a line that shouldn't be crossed. Most contests specify that automated entries will be disqualified, and I can't imagine how fastsweeper wouldn't be considered automated entries.
It also seems to me that this violates the spirit of entering contests. Obviously, businesses offer contests as a marketing tool. Those of us who enter a lot of contests may not spend a lot of time on an individual business site, but at least we go there long enough to give them a chance to get our attention and possibly educate us about their products. Automated entries like fastsweeper completely eliminate this. If I were a business and I noticed a tonne of entries coming from teh fastsweeper site, I'd be pretty quick to disqualify them all.
Anyway, that's just my opinion. Anyone else got any thoughts?
I tend to agree with you mskeen, but at the same time, I like the idea of entering contests automatically. It would be good if fastsweeper contacted the contests ahead of time.
I signed up as well to see what it would do. . . .Could you post if you actually win something. They guaranteed a win within 30 days or your money back. ha!
I noticed that you never get reply mailback back - quite often (not all) contests will send something back to your email, like a confirmation. Out of all the contests Fastsweeper claims to enter you in, you'd think you'd get at least a few confirmations back???
I also agree that this takes the fun out of 'contesting'. But maybe not the fun of winning. ;)
I shouldn't be so quick to click.....also to my post above.... There are a lot of contests that I'm being entered in that I wouldn't normally enter. Ie: Usually if I see a 'golf' contest, I wouldn't enter and hope that something that actually would love to win it, does. Not that I'd turn away any win, but I'm sure some people would appreciate certain items more than I would . . ..you know what I mean?
I'm very concerned about the fact that this service appears to violate the terms of virtually every contest I enter. While they have obviously figured out their way around the image test that most of the contests have, virtually every contests terms of service are very specific about disqualifying people who enter using automated systems. It's not difficult for the people who run the site to know what site you've entered from. I would fear being disqualified - as much as I'd love to speed up my entering and, of course, my wins. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this service and we'd all be happy to hear from anyone who chooses to use it. For now, I'm going to stick with my tried and true method. With Roboform, I can enter well over 100 contests an hour, so I think I'll stay with that to avoid the risk of being disqualified.
Here's an interesting piece of info. One of the contests that 'Fastsweeper' enters me in daily is the one for: $10500 Sport Check Trip for four to Calgary 2008-02-13. I went to the Sportcheck site and entered it myself. I get this message from them: Thanks for entering! Check your email for your coupon of $10 off with a minimum $99.99 purchase of Ripzone or Powder Room outerwear!
I did, in fact get an email coupon from Sportcheck. So now. .... . .what do you think happens to that message and email when I go through Fastsweeper??? It's been a daily entry on Fastsweeper and I've never received a coupon or email from Sportcheck until just now.
I would be concerned about being nailed for entering twice in a day - if FastSweeper is entering you daily as well. As far as the coupon, etc., FastSweeper notes that they decline all newsletter requests and the like. I suspect that the coupon may have been considered the same way - and declined.
We'll all be interested in hearing more about your experience with FastSweeper as you continue with it.
It's been a month now since I signed up and I haven't seen one email, and not one win. I noticed that after a month, they did change their list of winners and what they had won. Hard to tell if these are real wins or not.
I've also noticed that sometimes when they run the 'prize pod', several of the 'daily entries' come up on the list as 'Failed'. Possibly they're being disallowed?
SuCan, thanks for the update. We're all very interested in seeing whether you do, in fact, get wins as they promise. I too am curious about the "Failed" entries. I think you may be right. Surely the contest organizers are aware of this new trend and are trying to work around it.
My fear is that companies will stop holding online contests in favour of other methods that aren't as easily faked (like snail mail, or perhaps text on cell phones). I sure hope that that is not what services like FastSweeper cause: How ironic that they might damaging the hobby that they claim to help people enjoy.
Please continue to keep us updated, I know a number of members are very interested in these services.
i to got this fast sweeper...i am wondering about it..where can we see what contests we are in..and when i do my own contests on my own..and there is many..i can get into these contests..so what contest are they really entering for us..or are they really entering them??
I've now got 2 different friends who have decided to sign up for this service. I'll keep you up to date as to whether they win, and if so, what. I know we'll all be interested.
I have heard nothing back from them at all. I have won nothing at all. I'd say their 30 day guarantee is false and I'd have to really wonder about any real winnings. The do change the names of the people that won and what they won, but I am really doubting there is anything real to this at all. Other than the 2 weeks were away for, I have gone to the site daily and ran 'fastsweeper'. Personally - I wouldn't waste money on it. But if anyone does win, I'd sure appreciate hearing about it.
My 3 months were over and I emailed them about the guarentee and I got 3 more months. They said I would keep getting it for free until I won something.
I actually know someone who won using them-a Trip. So I don't think it is a scam.
I had to scroll back to see when I started with Fast Sweeper - It was January 08. That is 6 months of (almost) daily playing and nothing. Nada. Just thought I'd update. I plan to ask for an additional 3 months till I win too. :)
I joined that Fast Sweeper and rcv'd 2 "TY for entering" e-mails the 1st time I used it. So I give them the benefit and believe they are on the up and up.
CC is a great site BTW. Best contests around!!
Still nothing for me from Fastsweeper. I don't know why I'm always trying to pick apart that site. . ..but. . ...I enter Tribute's contests everyday. Once you enter, if you go back, it'll give you a big "OOPS, you've already entered today' if you try more than once.' Fastsweeper has 'Nights to Rodanthe' through Tribute as one of their entries. I ran Fastsweeper first, then went over to Tribute and . . .. I did NOT get a big 'OOPS' when I tried to enter the same contest. Does this mean Fastsweeper doesn't really enter for you????
I was with fast sweeper for 3 months. I won $4600 in camera/computer stuff (yet to arrive), but I cannot be sure if I won thru them or a previous entry on my own. When they say they enter sites like the magazine sites (Mochasofa etc) they don't , I monitored them for a few days and even after 22 hours my entry had not gone thru. If you try to enter twice it won't let you. Fastsweeper would not reply to my questions and on their list of things they enter there were often duplicates. So I guess it is up to individual choice.
Fastsweeper was the first contact I had with sweepstaking a year ago. I soon started reading in different blogs that it was against the rules to enter by automated methods which is exactly what FastSweeper is. Then I read that you can get blacklisted from different sweepstakes promotion companies. It's scary huh? I would advise anyone contemplating joining to think it over carefully.
I have joined- they have answered the questions I asked. Now I will wait to see what I win.
They say they enter between 400-600 contests for Canada.failed entries are checked and whatever is failed are looked into as to why they failed.
I will let you all know if I win from them.
IS anyone currently with them as well?
I have only been with them for 4 days.
It has been 16 months for me and not ONE win.No CD,Trip,plants,books-nada.
I emailed them to ask if this is normal or is something wrong and have not recieved an answer.
I know it's $35 for 3 months- so you just keep re-newing or are they renewing you for free?
They have answered all my emails. I haven't won from them yet but is it any different than winning and entering contests on your own? They have hundreds and thousands of people I'm sure that are signed up..it's only been 2 weeks for me so will wait. If you have any questions, please post them here- I have asked many of them and saved their answers.
Okay-over 2 years and I have NOT won a darn thing using Fast Sweeper. They have not updated the winners page in months so I wonder if they are even still araound?
HI! I am actually from the US, but I ended up on this site bc I did a search for fastsweeper. I did the search bc I have been emailing them twice a week for 4 months without a response. But just this week- the email is coming back undeliverable. I, too, have never won anything and the email I was sending them was about my membership- like its been a year and I only enrolled for 3 months- I understand about the garauntee but why didnt I ever get some kind of notification saying "Hey- your 3 months are up but since you havent won anything yet we will keep entering you inti you do so let us know as soon as you get a win!" I also wanted to know how they kept track of that anyway! I enter sweepstakes as a hobby- I use one site for instants and was using fastsweeper for everything else. Well one day I recieved a shirt from Adidas and I couldn't remember entering a sweepstake for them. This was the first time I had actually sent an email to fs. The next day I checked the other site I use and realized that I did enter the adidas sweep myself, not thru fs. So I didn't really care (then) that I never got a reply from fs.
This is what I think: either fastsweeper is a crap phony website (bc think about it- how can anyone really know for sure that they are being entered?! How do we know that the money we pay isnt going to someone to just key in made-up names and fake wins onto the website for us to see and add to its appearance of legitimacy!)
OR!
They really only do enter you for 30 days- and if you win, well then of course you know you have to renew your membership and of course you will do it bc you won! But if you don't win anything- nbd to them! They wil probably enter you in something once in a while, but eventually your name will just disappear and then you as the "client" will just move on and move away from fastsweeper thinking it just didn't do you any good. I DO remember getting more emails from other companies when I FIRST joined fs.
If anyone knows anything different- or even if anyone knows a way to get in touch with them- please let me know!
I gave up and deleted them from my desktop. I had tried to contact them and no one very answered. The winners list never changed for months and months-I think they went KAPUT!
I have been a member of Fastsweeper for years and have never won anything. They say on their website that if you don't win after your initial subscription fee, you can play for free until you do win. The past few days instead of being able to enter hundreds of sweepstakes at a time, I am only being offered 8 to enter!! I sent them 3 emails and they have not answered me. I just sent another one and told them if they did not reply I would turn them into the Better Business Bureau. I think they are out of business personally.
