Thanks for stopping by! We’re very pleased to roll-out our new discussion forums. We’ll likely add some posting guidelines very soon, but for now please just follow two simple rules: – no spam links (cheap Viagra! etc.), and – be nice to others (like good Canadians do) That said, jump in and have fun!

Please also note that this forum software is new, and we probably don’t have it configured in the best way. We’ll be making changes as issues come up, so please be patient.

I tried to wait it out, see if someone else would jump in, so I wouldn’t look like the all time keener. But to no avail…. I have no cheap viagra to sell.
C’mon now people, they finally give us a forum and we can’t all speak at once. Which contests do you enjoy the most? How many hours do you put in? Is it a hobby or your life? Do you stay away from certain contests? OR>>>>Do you just come for the fantastic ‘Artman quips?’ Or better yet, do you come to hear what Dana or I may say back? LOL!! Be kind and remember …Dana already has the sparkly!

Just to let you know, I enter as many contests as possible. If you don’t, you’ll never win. However, it seems like most contests are not legitimate. For instance, Holt Renfrew just recently had a contest called “Pucker up”. The website did not work and when notified they indicated that they were working on it. I went back on February 12, 2012, two days before the contest expired and still it did not work. The contest indicated that 3 steps were required 1) first – select the color the message was to be sent, then type in the recipients (email address) and then you would be entered. I did all of that, only to find an error in the application. So much for that contest. Why do these reputable companies list contests that do not work. Do they not realize that they are looking foolish. Another example is Canada.com – they advertised a contest to win 3 Pearl necklaces from Birks. First of all, the website did not work from the start of the contest. I read the rules of the contest and the dates were all mixed up. They also indicated that the winners would have up until January 31, 2012 to claim their prize; however, the winners were not be be drawn until February 13, 2012. Upon looking at the winners name – they were announced around February 7, 2012. What is the kicker is that Canada.com is in the business of communication media and they cannot even promote their contests properly. They really doe not look professional

That may be true Debbie, but there are hundreds that are legitimate. I just move on. Thanks for the insight though!

it’s true-as Debbie said…some contests are frustrating & you can get ‘snagged’ on them, but most often i only try a couple of times and then just move on.what i like is when you are entering you’re regular contests and get into the ‘zone’,that point where you’re fingers are doing all the work and you’re mind is deep into imagining the Prize! (love that)

I love this website. It is the best! I enter contests sporadically, depending on how much time I have. I haven’t won anything big, but I do win little things, books – passes, stuff like that. Am waiting for the big one. The only thing that really annoys me is when people post that they would really love to win such and such a contest. Of course we all want to win. It goes without saying. It’s just a waste of time to click on the comments tab, expecting to find relevant information, and reading stupid stuff like that. That’s my only gripe. So people out there – stop doing that! Please!

QUESTION ABOUT FACEBOOK CONTESTS — I have avoided them because I don’t want companies to access my account/friends etc. If you enter facebook contests ( they seem to be increasingly the majority) did you set up a separate facebook account?
