Grow Yeah: Essentials by Nature Makes Natural Beauty Totally Covetable

As a lot of you know, I’m a big advocate for understanding the products you make a part of your life. For me, that means investing in a lot of natural beauty products, and eating a primarily plant-based diet. One brand I recently came across is totally sympatico with this mindset.

Essentials by Nature is an Alberta-based brand created out of a pretty practical need: Emergency room nurse Jill Godin had a daughter diagnosed with severe allergies and asthma that made most store-bought products pretty off-limits. Coupled with Jill’s belief that health needs to be considered more holistically and as less of a ‘quick fix’, she began handcrafting all-natural, preservative-free, plant-based products – ones that friends and family began requesting, and well, the rest is history. In just the past year, the brand has been picked up by 16 retailers in Edmonton, Calgary, and Canmore, and recently made its debut out east in Toronto. I’ve highlighted a few of my fave finds from the line below that should *definitely* make your wish list.

Relaxing Bath Teas – $16+ each: We all know how soothing a cup of hot tea can be on a cold fall or winter night – but what about a tea-inspired bath? Coming in four soothing mixes, these aromatherapy bath teas contain soothing salts and essential oils to calm your skin and your mind.

Dry Shampoo – $12: The concept of dry shampoo is excellent; the semi-toxic ingredients in commercial brands? Not so much – particularly as they can leave your hair tacky or worse off than it was. This all-natural variety will let you skip a shower day and it comes in a dark and light shade, meaning no more white powder scalp for brunettes!

Immunity Roll On – $13: There’s a whole section on the Essentials by Nature site dedicated to natural healing. Many of the products are actually roll-ons to deal with common ailments from sore muscles to annoying headaches. My pick for the season has to be this immunity blend though, designed to keep bugs at bay.

Lavender Under Eye Roll-On – $18: I’m a big proponent of lavender to give you chill vibes at night; this roll-on formulation specifically designed for the eye area is double-soothing as it moisturizes and works to reduce puffiness and inflammation. I’ve been using it religiously for the last few weeks and I definitely feel more refreshed with every application.
