Echo Friendly
When I first stumbled onto Echo some months ago, I was immediately floored by their use of bright colours and patterns – two of my most favourite things in fashion & home decor. Their line-up of clothing, accessories, and housewares are all perfectly suited as gifts, whether you’re planning for Mother’s Day, a special birthday, or a wedding gift, they’ve got tons of options. Today I thought it might be fun to speak to some of their super fun beach season collections. Although it’s still a little frigid in most parts of Canada, there’s no harm in dreaming, right?
One of the most fun things about the site is the fact you can actually shop by a particular collection – like the Fiesta Diamonds line, pictured above. Once you’ve locked onto a pattern you love, you can search and find all of the complementary pieces in matching or varied colours for a look that’ll say pulled together and playful at the same time. Pieces start at $50, so you and a bridal party could potentially team up to pull together a honeymooner’s wardrobe if the bride is heading somewhere sunny.
Also awesome? Their line-up of mix & match solid pieces. choose the styles that most flatter your figure, and order them in an assortment of vibrant, summer-friendly shades. Most of the pieces are in the $50 – $60 range, so you can easily stock up on a few to extend your beach wardrobe. A new top with a different bottom can easily perk up your swimwear line-up, particularly handy for those weeks spent at the lake.
I also dig the fact that even with their more modest cuts, they aren’t afraid of colour and pattern. Honestly, I’m drooling over all of these suits (particularly the stripes & dots number on the far left) that offer a super-flattering cut that’ll draw attention away from trouble spots and still make you a swimwear standout. These one-pieces would all make fabulous birthday gifts for your wife or sister, and priced at $112 – $125 they’re really all you need once the sunshine finally hits.
I have to say though, the line that really won my heart was the juicy citrus shades and playful brushstroke patterns found in the Mambo line. I’d suggest Echo feels the same way I do, as it appears to be this year’s marquis line-up with everything from technology cases to tote bags, all perfect for making a serious splash on the pool, or the boardwalk.
Honestly though, you should take a dive into their coverups for the perfect finishing touch – whether your swimwear comes from Echo’s crazy beautiful lineup or not, there’s a gorgeous coverup that definitely doesn’t take sexy out of the equation waiting for you. Go for a long, boldly printed caftan, a sheer dress or poncho, or a cute eyelet lace dress to take you from the sandy beaches to romantic dinners or drinks with friends.

I went to high school in Australia, where Mambo originates… I looooved their stuff. You couldn’t get them in Canada back then, and I was sad when I moved back here and lost access. It’s awesome to know that we can get them now.

As a woman of a certain age, I do not prance around the beach in a bikini. I wear a tankini which tends to hide a lot of sins. I do currently own a black cover-up which I suppose is age appropriate, however, I feel like a large, black, old crow in it. In my heart, I am still 24 and I would dearly love to win one of the Mambo butterfly cover-ups. They are all so bright and beautiful and wearing one, I would surely resemble a colourful parrot! Who knows? I might even attract a mate.
