My blendid family’s home is falling apart the water damage is so extensive that you smell mold th moment you walk through the doors. I’m finally just this past year been able to stay home with my children as my common law spouse does trucking out of town. We have four children and need to move to a bigger house but till we move or are able to I live in fear each day that we are going to possibly come home to a broken no more livable house

Oh to dream. Our 70 yr old veterans house is the last original in our neighbourhood. A new kitchen? Curb appeal landscaping? A deck? We have lived here for 25 years and would love to keep the integrity of the neighbourhood. Thanks for your consideration.

I would be so so happy to be picked!!! We really need a kitchen makeover, our kitchen is old, laminate cabinets that don’t close properly because the hinges are getting old. I think they’re original cabinets when the home was build in 1968. We’ve lived here for 13 years now but we are both self-employed and we need to be safe and budget. My daughter who’s 11 and I love cooking and we wish for a more stylish kitchen to entertain in. Please pick us!!!!!!! : )

  7. Lucinda says:

We are both ill, and we really need a new kitchen.

  8. Maria Teresa says:

I recently lost my husband to 19 years of fighting with cancer. I have three children, one suffering from a form of autism, I hold 2 jobs and at times 3; however I’m going to a difficult time and I am currently on a sick leave. I need to supplement my income. I would like to have a home day care for shift workers but for that to happen I need to add a sun room and renovate my kitchen ( cupboards don’t close properly and the lay out is not very efficient) but just resurfacing the cupboards and counters and adding a room for the daycare children will make me happy and able to support myself and my family. while I’m waiting i’ll keep praying and hope that once in my life i’ll get some help. if I’m not chosen I hope it is because who ever gets it it’s more deserving and I wish the family a happy and healthy life.
    Sincerely ,
    Maria

this entry is for my father, he has been working hard his whole life, and never got much in return, I have tried to help make his life a little bit easer but I don’t have much knowledge in the things he dose, the house my dad lives in is a dump, the windows freeze, there is mold on and in the walls, no electrical power the house runs on a little generator the winters here go down to -30 and I gets real cold, no running water, he has to get water from the water tank, one day I went to visit my dad and blacked out because of the carbon level, no good way to cook food only by using a two burner camping stove, the house leaks in the spring, some windows are broken, we cant afford to fix the house… please help we are crazy desperate for help.

  11. Lenore Green says:

I am applying on behalf of my 96 year old Mother who lives in her own home in an organized hamlet in North Eastern Saskatchewan. Her husband, my father, a WW11 veteran, passed away June 14, 2013, two days after their 66 wedding anniversary. Mom has a women who comes into the home to clean and do laundry thus allowing her to remain in the home. She loves looking out the living room window at the birds at the bird feeders , and watching the sunset over the river she played in as a child. She has lived in the area or has been strongly connected to the area since age 7. Her house is 55 years old and needs a new roof, siding, windows and a walk in shower.

I have two young sons, our home is aging and i look after everything on my own…would really feel blessed to win something like this. GOOD LUCK to everyone here!

  13. Bonnie says:

My husband lost his late wife in 2008. after 7 years of suffering with kidney disease and dialysis. She fell asleep while driving, had a really bad car accident and died 11 months later. Shortly after we met, my 28 year old son was murdered. My husband has owned our home for 25 years and raised 6 kids in it. It is falling apart and if we won this contest it would make a world of difference for both of us.

  14. Ketsa says:

I wishfully thought that I could put the money aside quickly to paint the house…. Several years later … nothing. I could greatly appreciate to be the winner of this contest.

  15. Carl says:

Thank you for the opportunity to innovate and set example to my neighbourhood.

  16. Darlene says:

I am truly hoping to be picked. You should always read the directions when putting sticky things on the wall…..took them off and pulled all the paint with them….duh…lol. Read package after and it says “not for painted walls”. As well, my finished basement has not been touched since 1976….I should say 39 years later and the style of the basement has not returned. Truly needs an update.

  17. Lorna says:

I’ve come to realize things in a home wear out after years of use. So, for us, this contest money would help to replace, repair and update some things in this much loved home. Thanks for organizing such a contest.

  18. Michelle Robertson says:

This would be great to help us complete our basement renovations!

  22. Justin G says:

Our home needs everything to be our own! I continually put sweat equity into it but that only does so much. This would be amazing and RBC will earn a brand ambassador for life!

  23. Lily G. says:

Everyone who has commented thinking that that is their entry: Has made a mistake. You all must go onto the website linked to the post. This is not a draw. They will not choose or even acknowledge this website. This website is simply to inform you of Canadian contest. It has no association with the contests themselves.

    Good luck.

  24. Kathy B says:

My husband is not a handy man at all! I try my best to do it myself but it’s clear that I’m not a pro. I need this desperately!
