    Dear Ones
Winnipeg has (short) but spectacular summers, but my backyard is small and rather dull. It does not invite a party. It doesn’t even really invite me to go sit out there. so I would love a back yard and deck that allows my family, friends and me to relax in a cosy and elegant hideaway!

  6. Helen Nicholas says:

So much could be done with my back yard …. but I broke my left arm this winter falling on glare ice when going to my girlfriend’s wake. I sure could use the help in fixing my back yard. I would be soooo amazed if you chose me!

We bought our house a few years ago.
Had all these plans to do stuff!
But we do not have the know how to figure it out!
We have above ground pool and we want to deck it in, but we do not know how to do it!
We also have one side of our yard, a really waste of space!
It slopes down to the neighbors yard, it is slowly sloughing away.
    We have no clue!
    Please help us!!
    Thanks mike.

  12. Elizabeth Brazil says:

I have such great ideas for a backyard that offers quiet, relaxation and a place for family and friends to gather. As an extension of living space, I feel a functional backyard is so often underrated. But I say, “it’s the best place!” Nice lighting, a small green house, tier deck with seating and a bbq – plants and a stone path…….. mmmmm …….. And since I live on the rainy east coast an awning…..

  13. Jessica says:

We would love to have our dreamy backyard vacation spot, it has HUGE potential, but I don’t have the slightest idea where to start, set in the country its very peaceful – I love it here, and the backyard being finished would be the polishing touch to our dream home!

My husband of 26 years; Garden devil. What did he do?! He killed a four foot by four foot section of my garden because he thought the residing plant in that section was poison ivy. It was, in fact, strawberry plant ground cover which had been there for at least five years underneath a standard lilac tree. In his infinite wisdom, while attacking the “poison ivy”, he managed to kill my grandmother’s heritage peony which my 87 year old mother had preciously given to me. It had taken me three years to get the peony to bloom due to it’s sensitivity. Whatever he used to kill the “poison ivy” went into the soil, went under the limestone edging, over to the lawn and managed to burn any grass for another four feet. He seeded that area recently. My father taught me, as a child, to love the soil and labour in the garden. If only I could have my garden back.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. My husband built our home ten years ago…we love our house. Our children were toddlers when we moved in. We have managed to put in a very long retaining wall at the back of our property, and grass but it is weed ridden! Our kids are now teenagers, need I say any more. Both very busy and sporty. A finished yard would be so amazing, I would love to work in it and keep it up just no idea how or where to start. I really feel we have the perfect spot. My husband thinks no trees is great no raking…I dream of an amazing yard and know it is possible this would be so amazing…! Can’t wait to hear from you to tell me I won!! ????????????
