I won’t give up trying to WIN

Dad has always been a handyman, and spent time building timberframe homes. Last year he suffered from sudden heart failure and had to be revived at the hospital. The doctors checked his heart and couldn’t explain what had caused it, the only explanation they could provide was that he had “an electrical problem”. He was released from the hospital after a few days and we weren’t given any comfort or reassurance that it wouldn’t happen again but we were told that it was just stress. Sure enough, 6 months later it happened again. He was at his friend’s place and blacked out. This time he was rushed to a city hospital and fitted with a temporary pacemaker. They still cannot explain why his heart stopped twice, but now he has a pacemaker in and from the readings, we know that his heart is 100% reliant on the device to keep beating.
My dad can no longer run a chainsaw or weld like he used to and often has dizzy spells which inhibits his ability to do the same tasks as he could before. We have a half finished kitchen with a missing countertop and half finished cupboard. It breaks my heart to see him unable to do the things that he was so passionate about before but he is the kind of guy who will never ask for help. A kitchen makeover would mean the world to him.
    (Sorry about the novel-length post)

My son has always entered my name for kitchen, bathroom or basement make-over.
I now have a lovely kitchen, thanks to my son and daughter who worked together to give me my dream kitchen. Now it is my turn to try and help my son get rid of his ugly, poorly functioning kitchen. This guy helps so many people with their tasks and lives in general. He is a very deserving, hard working son who has made his mom very proud.
