Yes, the US has many contests, often limited to its mainland dwellers (notice how US territories are often left out?). Oh, US winners have the legal obligation to pay the IRS its tax portion on any prize winnings, since winnings (money or things) are considered INCOME. Keep that in mind if you enter a contest open to both US and Canada, the prize supplier is going to ask you for some personal tax info before releasing the prize…is it worth the hassle?

You will not have to pay tax, only duty from the border. Depends on the prize whether it is worth paying or not. Good Luck!
