Our apartment runs along a busy street, so we hear traffic non-stop. Our kitchen is tiny, the floor slopes, and it has a mustard-yellow stove (circa 1970) that's partly broken. The building is so old, that we can't have more than 1 appliance working at any given time or the power shorts out. (For example, we can't make coffee and microwave something at the same time). Oh, and our apartment basement has a washer & broke dryer, so we wash clothing and then spread them out over our couches to dry. It's all rather funny in a pathetic sort of way.
